This is a fully sourced timeline for Jan Kristufek, son of Matej Krystufek and Lidmilla Krejci of Talin, South Bohemia, from the time of the birth of his wife in 1823 to the time of his death in 1913. 1871 Great Chicago Fire begins at 137 DeKoven,

1875 Son John is listed as a cigar maker and

1877 October 31. Daughter Jennie (listed as
Antonia J. Kristufek) marries Frank Lepsa in Minnesota. His parents, Jacob and
Mary, own a grocery store there.
1880 June 4th. John Sr., house
owner, is living at 487 S. Canal Street with wife Ann and son Joseph. Also at

1882 Daughter Jennie’s husband Frank Lepsa is
listed as a Secretary for the Pioneer Lodge No. 25 for the CSPS in Wahoo,

1885 June 9th. Daughter Kate is
living with husband Frank Gross, children Sylvia and John, along with John
Sr.’s son Joseph in Wahoo City, Nebraska. Also living there are Daughter Jennie and husband Frank J. Lepsa. Frank Gross is working as a brewer, Lepsa as a
bottler and Lepsa’s brother Thomas a boilermaker. Joseph is listed as a cigar
maker but he has also spent two of the months of the year unemployed.

1886 Joseph and Mary live in New York City for
four years and have first two children there, Joseph Jr. (January 14, 1887) and
Sylvia (August 10, 1888).

election results. Republican Frank Lepsa loses to Democrat and People’s
Independent candidate Mr. Vanhousen for the 26th District for the state house.
1895 March 23. Mary Bedlan Kristufek awakes to
the sound of a barking dog alerting her to two intruders trying to break into the

Frank Lepsa commits suicide in Wahoo, Nebraska after selling his interest in a

In his will, Frank Lepsa leaves
$9000 to various charities in Bohemia including: $4000 for poor school children
in Trebon near Branna in South Bohemia and $1000 to a library there as well.

Kristufek Lepsa, now Antonia Boehm, settles for $3500 and allows balance of

April 20th. Antonia “Jennie” Kristufek gets fast divorce from Frank Boehm after claiming he choked her. In addition to her recent settlement with her first husband’s estate, she also receives $1800 in alimony from Frank Boehm (Source: Salt Lake Herald)

landlord, is living with son John Jr., a saloon keeper, and John Jr.’s children
George (a cigar maker), Ida, Joseph and Mamie at 487 S. Canal Street. Also
living at this address: Granddaughter Annie with husband George Beresheim with
children Annie, Ruth and George Jr. as well as grandson Edward and wife Mary
with children Edward and Arthur.
June 2nd. Son Joseph, a feed dealer, is living with wife Mary and children Joseph Jr., Sylvia, Robert, Ella and Henry at 1915 W. 47th Street.

with granddaughter Annie and her husband George Beresheim (and their children
Annie, George and Charles) at 1134 S. Canal Street. Also living at the address

April 19th. Daughter Anna
and husband Vaclav, a soda water manufacturer, are living with children Edward
(chemist), Jerry (bottler), Ella (shoe saleslady), Anna (bookkeeper) and Sylvia
(apprentice dressmaker) at 1529 W. 19th Street.
April 28th. Son Joseph,
a saloon proprietor, and wife Mary are living with children Joseph Jr. (a
railsman clerk), Robert (bookkeeper), Henry, Ella, Adeline, and George at 1300

April 21st. Daughter
Katie and husband Frank Gross are living in Wahoo City, Nebraska with children John
and Georgia.
US Census finds Alfred R. Davies,
clerk, with his wife Antoinette, born in Illinois, parents from Bohemia, who
had one child who is no longer living, and an adopted 19 year old niece Phyllis
Boehm living at 2510 Welton in Denver.
1913 April 10th. John Jr., a
retired saloon keeper, dies at 1429 S. 44th Street of cirrhosis of
the liver (his address for the last six months of his life) and is buried at
